This week’s calendar features 70 events spanning classical, opera, jazz, rock, pop, folk, blues, and more. - TMC Orchestra Performs Ravel & Stravinsky in Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood on Monday. Thomas Adès and the TMC Conducting Fellows lead pieces by Ravel and Stavinsky in honor of Ravel’s 150th birthday.
- Jazz Piano: the return of the Prodigies, with Jasper Zimmerman and Esteban Castro at BU Tanglewood Institute on Tuesday. This double bill collaboration between Berkshires Jazz and the BU Tanglewood Institute features two remarkable solo jazz pianists in recital.
- Summer Concert: Chinobay at the Clark Art Institute on Wednesday. From Uganda, Chinobay is a musician, cultural ambassador, and educator bringing the vibrant rhythms and melodies of Africa.
- Tanglewood Recital Series: Seong-Jin Cho in Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood on Wednesday. Solo piano music of Maurice Ravel performed by virtuoso Cho, featured in the current issue of Berkshire Magazine.
- The Whiskey Treaty Roadshow at The Egremont Barn on Friday. One of the region’s favorite bands is back in the Berkshires. Read my piece “A Band of Brothers” from last July’s issue of Berkshire Magazine.
- One Night Only: An Evening with Sutton Foster & Kelli O’Hara at Tanglewood on Friday. Read the cover story, “One Night Only,” about this Broadway duo in the current issue of Berkshire Magazine.
- A Concert with the Coleman Mongue Project at Adams Theatre on Saturday. It’s a family affair when Music in the Berkshires featured musician Gina Coleman takes the stage along with her talented son, Diego Mongue, and his band, who we featured in the Spring issue of Berkshire Magazine.
- Matt Cusson at The Guthrie Center on Saturday. The talented native of Pittsfield won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest for Best Jazz Song with his composition “One of Those Nights” and toured with Christina Aguilera, performing the acclaimed duet “Say Something” alongside her.
- Andris Nelsons conducts Tosca at Tanglewood on Saturday. The BSO, together with a talented group of opera stars, the Tanglewood Festival Chorus, and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young Artists’ Chorus, will perform Puccini’s Tosca.
- Symphonie fantastique and Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 2 with Yuja Wang at Tanglewood on Sunday. Enjoy the Sunday afternoon performance with the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra performing Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique.
- TLI Presents: Trumpet Summit featuring Jon Faddis, Randy Brecker, Benny Benack III, Bria Skonberg, and the Ted Rosenthal Trio at Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood on Sunday. Catch four trumpet greats and the Ted Rosenthal Trio performing the music of Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, and Louis Armstrong.
- GA-20 at The Egremont Barn on Sunday. The award-winning Boston-based traditional blues band makes a stop in the Berkshires as part of their 2025 US and international tour.
