Old Mill Road Media Acquires Music in the Berkshires

Dear Music Lover,

It’s Valentine’s Day, and there is no better time to announce a new match made in music heaven! I’m pleased to announce that Old Mill Road Media has acquired Music in the Berkshires

Old Mill Road is the publisher of Berkshire Magazine, Vermont Magazine, Stratton Magazine, Manchester Life, and the Vermont News GuideAll of these publications feature dedicated music sections. Old Mill Road is also home to a state-of-the-art recording studio, featuring in-house engineer, GRAMMY ® Award Winner Benjamin J. Arrindell.

Music is at the heart of Old Mill Road.

This new partnership will allow Music in the Berkshires to reach more music lovers and benefit from Old Mill Road’s deep publishing experience and extensive network of partners and advertisers. Old Mill Road’s subscribers will benefit from having firsthand access to the definitive resource for live music in the Berkshires.

Don’t worry! In my new role as Content Director of Music in the Berkshires, I’ll continue doing what I’ve been doing since I launched the digital publication in April 2023—collating the calendar, managing the site, and interviewing musicians. From the beginning, my mission has been to help Berkshire County residents and visitors find the live music that brings them joy; help promote local and visiting musicians; help music venues publicize their performances; and help raise the visibility of the Berkshires’ live music scene outside the region, fostering economic development for the area. Being a part of the Old Mill Road family will make this goal a reality.

GRAMMY ® Award at Old Mill Road Recording

I was first introduced to Old Mill Road when Berkshire musician and Mill Town Foundation Program Manager Andy Wrba connected me to Anastasia Stanmeyer, Editor-in-Chief of Berkshire Magazine. We met for coffee right down the road at Six Depot in West Stockbridge. Anastasia introduced me to Dr. Joshua Sherman, C.E.O. of Old Mill Road. Joshua loved the Music in the Berkshires website and recognized that a collated community calendar for the local music scene is incredibly valuable. He clearly is passionate about music and the Berkshires. After my wife and I visited Old Mill Road Recording in East Arlington, Vermont, and saw their beautiful studio, I knew this was a perfect match.

You’ll see some subtle changes to the website and newsletter over the coming weeks, but I’ll still be doing what I’ve been doing since last April: trying to find and post every live music performance in Berkshire County, interviewing artists such as Billy Keane, Gina Coleman of Misty Blues, and The Whiskey Treaty Roadshow, and sharing videos from performances around the county on Instagram and Facebook.

I’m incredibly excited to join the team at Old Mill Road–it’s a musical match made in heaven!

Mark
