Berkshire Lyric Holiday Concert – Great Barrington
Berkshire Lyric presents The Holly and the Ivy , the second of their three 2023 Christmas Concerts on Sunday December 10. The choral program will take place at 3:00 at Saint James Place on Main Street in Great Barrington.
The featured work will be the Vivaldi Magnificat. accompanied by a chamber orchestra. Traditional and contemporary a cappella carols by Hassler, Bruckner, Lauridsen, and Ola Gjeilo will take advantage of the splendid acoustics of this former church. The 80 voice Berkshire Lyric most recently sang the Brahms German Requiem at Seiji Ozawa Hall, Tanglewood. They will be joined by Lyric’s young women’s ensemble Melodious Accord and by soloists Lily Lothrop, Madeline Caruso, Rich Geiler and John Demler. The concert is under the direction of artistic director and conductor Jack Brown and assisted by Joe Rose at the piano.​ Tickets are $30 and will be sold online, at the door or in advance through the Berkshire Lyric website or member singers. This popular concert in Great Barrington has been sold out for the last few years, so purchase tickets early.
