Ron Ramsay & Samantha Talora bring an exhilarating vocal tour de force everywhere they go! Since 2014, the pair has blended their voices, created beautiful harmonies and delivered countless curated concerts including A Night at the Oscars, A Sondheim Trilogy, Mistletoe & Music Cabaret Trains with Berkshire Scenic Railway, virtual concerts, such as Love Notes, during the season of social distancing and a songbook ranging from Broadway to the Blues and some Pop Chart toppers in between.
In December of 2023, they presented, I’ll Stand By You, a concert celebrating the start of 10 years of musical collaboration and friendship between the duo. And they end the year now with “Just Us” which will be recorded live and showcases the songs they’ve loved to sing together for the past 10 years mixed with new, gorgeous gems that put a spotlight on each of their unique strengths – Ramsay’s warm tones, silky vocals and whimsical wit alongside Talora’s soulful blend of sultry blues and velvety soprano tones.
More about Ron Ramsay:
Hailing from the Berkshires, Ron Ramsay is a distinguished singer, pianist, organist, music director, actor, dancer, and educator with a remarkable career spanning over five decades. At just 8 years old, he began singing at various churches, music venues and acting in both amateur & professional theaters, leading him to the prestigious Dallas High School of the Performing Arts and SMU. Ron would return to the Berkshires briefly and create Dinner Theater at the Mansion and the Stockbridge Cabaret with stars of the NY Cabaret scene. In 1988, he embarked on an international tour of Russia with the groundbreaking musical Hair, serving as both Music Director and with a cameo in drag as Margaret Mead, bringing down the house every night.
Ron attended the Manhattan School of Music and made Manhattan his home for thirty years. He made his mark, gracing Broadway stages, celebrated concert halls and, most notably, in the highly competitive and intimate world of cabaret – an art form he discovered and learned in his teenage years from Berkshire legend and hostess Stephanie Barber (Music Inn & Wheatleigh) who was in a pinch to find someone to play for her act. She took him under her tutelage and they formed a lifelong friendship. Ron is the founder of Studio100, providing private lessons and coaching in piano, voice and acting. He also serves as the Music Director at St. Ann Church in Lenox.
Ramsay’s solo shows have been praised by the New York press as ” “well-stocked and thoughtful, high quality songs …always a sublime Songbook.” – New York Post “Ramsay’s powerful yet subtle voice demands our full attention.” – The Village Voice
