The Cantilena Chamber Choir presents a triumphant return of its annual Martin Luther King concert with the Urban Choral Arts Society of Baltimore with conductor Ronald McFadden on Sunday, January 19th at 3:00pm. The concert will feature the extended work I WILL LIFT THINE EYES by Adolphus Hailstork, spirituals by Roland Carter and Moses Hogan and a spirituals sing along. This concert sells out every year and Cantilena is very excited to have them back after a four year hiatus!
For the fourth year, the Berkshire Eagle is sponsoring a Martin Luther King student essay contest. The winners will be present to read their entries.
The Cantilena Chamber Choir, now in its 21st season under the direction of Andrea Goodman, is comprised of 24 dedicated singers of the highest caliber, who possess vocal training, excellent sight-reading skills and considerable choral experience.
