The 22nd St. John’s Summer Free Noontime concert series opens with a performance by Emily Kalish (violin), En-Ting Hsu (viola), and pianist Charles Tsui. The program includes Mozart: Sinfonia Concertante, Shostakovich: 5 Pieces, and Rebecca Clarke: Dumka.
Emily Kalish, violinist, is a Berkshire native living, teaching, and performing in the New York City metropolitan area. She is a member of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and was a member of the Binghamton Philharmonic for ten years.
A native of Taiwan, En-Ting Hsu received a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory, studying with Scott Lee. She received her Master of Music and Performer Diploma at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and obtained her Bachelor of Music degree at National Taiwan Normal University.
Charles Tsui is a pianist based in Williamstown, Massachusetts. He serves as an Artist Associate in Collaborative Piano at Williams College, supporting students in recital preparation and performance, and has served as an orchestral pianist with the Berkshire Symphony. He has also assisted students at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Amherst College, and the Longy School of Music of Bard College.
Intimate setting, superb acoustics. Admission is free (donations welcome). Children are invited.
Concerts continue every Monday through August 18.
