Headed by pianist Matt DeChamplain and his wife Atla, The Hot Club of New England features top swing, gypsy, and hot jazz musicians in the New England area. Matt is a virtuoso pianist with a range that swings from delicate and intimate to energetic and powerful. His wife Atla has a sensitive yet powerful voice which displays an amazing range, demonstrating the full emotional spectrum from joy to melancholy. The Jan. 5 performance is a “CD on-ramp” event, an opportunity to hear the quintet’s fresh material in a live performance on the eve of the band’s first studio recording session.
