Aviv Bahar is a member of the celebrated Yamma Ensemble, a group that performs ancient and modern Hebrew music from across the Mediterranean and Africa. Bahar’s skillful fusion of traditional and contemporary sounds has earned him recognition within the Israeli music scene and beyond. Aviv Bahar is known for his mastery of Middle Eastern string instruments, including the kopuz, oud, and sitar. Self-taught, he draws inspiration from Persian, Kurdish, and Turkish music traditions, which influence both his compositions and arrangements. He has collaborated with renowned artists such as Diwan Saz and Mark Eliyahu. Bahar’s musical work spans multiple genres, blending folk traditions with modern Hebrew pop and rock, and he has released three albums of original Hebrew pop music.
